Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu Airport
    Welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival in the airport, our representative will welcome you with greetings from Marvel Adventure. You will be then transferred to hotel by private vehicle. On reaching hotel, you can either rest or roam around the streets of Thamel. Later, we meet you at our office for pre-trip discussion.
    • Day 02 Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
      The day will start with our guided sightseeing tour to cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including Pashupatinath temple, The Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with temple and unique architectures. Evening pre-trip discussion and introduction with your trekking guide. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
      • Day 03 Drive to Arughat (670m)
        A scenic drive of around 6-7 hours along the Prithivi highway takes us to Arughat. On the way you can have panoramic views of southern slopes of Ganesh Himal,Manaslu and many more.
        • Day 04 Trek to Soti Khola (730m)
          The trek begins as you follow the trail of the Budhi Gandaki that drains the Manaslu - Tsum region. A further trek up the west bank of the river leads to Soti Khola where you are going to stay overnight at camp.
          • Day 05 Trek to Maccha Khola
            After breakfast, today’s trail rises gradually through beautiful Sal forests. It later drops to pass rice paddies before climbing to the attractive Gurung village of Labubesi (885m). After crossing a suspension bridge at the Nauli Khola falls, the trail drops onto gravel banks along the river before rising slightly to the village of Machha Khola.
            • Day 06 Trek to Dobhan (1070m)
              The trail follows the river, with minor ups and downs, often dropping to the gravel bar before crossing the Thado Khola and on up to Khorlabesi with some ups and downs to reach Tatopani, natural hot spring. Then we climb over a ridge and cross the Budhi Gandaki on a suspension bridge. We will have to climb over another ridge to reach Dobhan.
              • Day 07 Trek to Philim (1590m)
                The day will start by crossing a suspension bridge over the Dobhan Khola. Then the trail climbs on a rugged trail to Duman, cross a suspension bridge over the Yaru Khola and climb the stone stairs. A walk down to the river and a steep climb on stone stairs  takes us to Tharo Bharyang. Then we will trek along the Budhi Gandaki river and climb towards the village of Jagat.We will then climb over a rocky ridge to Salleri, and then descend to Setibas. The valley widens a bit as the trail continues up to Ghatta Khola. We will then continue upstream to a long suspension bridge and climb up to Philim, a large Gurung village where the Chholing Sandu Gompa is situated.
                • Day 08 Trek to Chumling (2363m)
                  We start our walk heading north through dense forests enjoying scenic mountains views. After walking for around 6-7 hours, we reach Chumling where we visit Chumling Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries of Chumling village. Overnight stay at Chumling village
                  • Day 09 Trek to Chokhangparo (3010m)
                    The trail today leads us to hidden valley of Tsum, beautiful valley in the region. We can have majestic views of Ganesh Himal range. Then a steep climb takes us to Chhokangparo, where you can enjoy the views of Himalchuli at 7893 meters.
                    • Day 10 Trek to Nile via Milarepa cave (3361m)
                      We will walk past Lamagaon to the Rachen Gompa and climb up to the Milarepa Cave.  Then we cross the Shiar Khola and continue walking through the villages of Phurbe and Pangdun. After crossing the village of Chhule, we will climb upstream and cross the bridge to finally arrive Nile.
                      • Day 11 Nile to Bhajyo (Chhekya) (4030m)
                        Our trek starts early with a walk through trekking trail close to the Tibetan border. This gives us great views of Tibetan peaks and also our very own Ganesh Himal. We head along the trail for around 4 hours to reach Bhajyo passing through Mu Gompa on our way. Overnight stay at Bhajyo.
                        • Day 12 Acclimatization at Bhajyo
                          This will be the day suitable for both acclimatization and sightseeing. As you are close to the Tibetan border, you can explore the highlands around Bhajyo as well as enjoy the magnificent views of the Ngula Dhojyang pass and the glaciers of the Yamdro Valley.                           • Day 13 Bhajyo to Rachen Gompa
                            We continue our trek from Bhajyo after the rest day. We reach Rachen Gompa in around 6 hours of trek. Rachen Gumba is one of the most popular monasteries in Shiar Khola valley. Overnight at Rachen Gompa
                            • Day 14 Trek to Chumje (3230m)
                              The trek starts crossing a bridge and follows a descending trail to reach Chhokangparo. After the trek ahead from Chhokangparo is a descending trail that brings you at Gho (2,485m). The forthcoming trail ahead takes the northern route in the lower Tsum Valley. The trek passes through Yaju and brings you to Chumje.
                              • Day 15 Trek to Bihi (2130m)
                                The trek starts as we catch the trail that passes through the northern side of the lower Tsum Valley. The trail  first brings you to Dorjon Kharka village and then goes through Rana (1910m) to cross a large suspension bridge in the main valley of the Manaslu Budhi Gandaki River. From Chumje, we continue on the northern route in the lower Tsum Valley. A short walk afterwards takes us up to the village of Bihi.
                                • Day 16 Trek to Namrung (2630m)
                                  The day begins as we trek through forested trail to come across Mani and then towards Ghap. From Ghap, we will be following a trail that passes through Prok village. The trek onwards continues as you will cross the Budhi Gandaki River several times, encounter with several Buddhist Gompas, follow the route through dense forest, and even experience the taste of gentle pleasant trekking. On reaching Namrung, you can have majestic views of various mountains like Ganesh Himal, Siringi and many more.
                                  • Day 17 Trek to Lho (3180m)
                                    From Namrung, we again enter the Buddhism influenced region and probably to higher altitude.We will climb through the forest to Lihi and then descend to the village Sho. Another steep climb takes us to Lho , where we will be staying overnight at campsite on a ridge.
                                    • Day 18 Trek to Samagaun (3500m)
                                      The trail once again drops to a river and yet again, is followed by a climb. The climb ends at the village of Shyala and the valley starts to open up with the trail turning into an easy walk through the pasture lands. At the far end of the village, overlooking the valley stands the well-known monastery of Sama. Samagaon,where we are going to stay  is a village inhabited mainly by the Tibetans and lies at the foot of Manaslu.
                                      • Day 19 Trek to Samdo (3860m)
                                        We follow the Budhi Gandaki River up to a stream which we cross on a suspension bridge.The trail gradually climbs through the valley and continue to follow the river. The path then gets steeper at the end of the day and reaches the village of Samdo, with a view of Samdo Peak (6335 meters) towering on the east direction.
                                        • Day 20 Trek to Dharamasala (4480m)
                                          The trail gradually descends briefly and then starts to ascend afterwards towards the Larkya Glacier. The path becomes easier and ends at the Dharmasala,also known as Larkya la Base camp. This short walk to Larke Phedi provides us enough time and rest to acclimatize for the further trek.
                                          • Day 21 Cross the Larkya La pass (5213m) and Trek down to Bimtang (3720m)
                                            An early start and a gradual ascend to the Larkya Glacier only ends at the top of the pass. The top rewards with the views of Himlung (7126 meters), Annapurna II (7937 meters), Kang guru (6981 meters) and several other pinnacles standing above 6000 meters. A steep drop starts on the snow and later on, the glacial moraine continues for the rest of the day as the descending trail passes through the area of low pastures to connect you with Bimthang.
                                            • Day 22 Bimtang to Gho (2560m)
                                              After enjoying the Himalayan panorama, the trip follows a descending trail to Sangure Kharka. The trek continues walking from this pasture till you cross a bridge over the Dudh Khola. Then the trail passes through a rhododendron forest and a narrow valley until you reach the highest cultivated land of the valley at Karche (2,785m). The continuous mountain trail ahead connects you with Gho. A short walk takes us to Tiliche with better accommodation options where we spend the night.
                                              • Day 23 Tilche to Chamje (1430m)
                                                The day starts as we leave the village through a stone arch and then cross the Dudh Khola River.Then  you follow the descending trail through a scrub . The trek ahead brings you to Thonje, passes through a Chorten-shaped arch and finally brings you to the Marsyangdi River. Dharapani lies across a long suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi River. From Dharapani, the forthcoming trail follows the famous Annapurna Circuit route in reverse and finally brings you to today’s overnight site at Chamje.
                                                • Day 24 Chamje to Besishar (875m)
                                                  From Chamje, we follow the trail that leads to the Jagat village. After crossing the Marsyangdi Khola, the Marsyangdi valley is seen with its wide open spaces, pastures, villages and fields. A descent through rhododendron forests takes us to the Syange village.  After a slight climb and a leveled walk from Bahun Danda, we continue with a gentle walk downstream, passing through villages to reach the town of Besishar where we spend the night.
                                                  • Day 25 Drive back to Kathmandu from Besishar
                                                    After an early breakfast, we take a drive back to Kathmandu from Besisahar with the beautiful memories of the trek. On reaching Kathmandu, you can roam around this vibrant city and buy gifts and souvenirs to take back home. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
                                                    • Day 26 Final transfer to Airport for your flight to home
                                                      On your last day of the trip, we will drop you off at Tribhuwan International Airport. We would like to welcome you again to visit our Himalayan nation to explore more of the hidden treasures of our nation.
