About Trip:

Ever since Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary summited Mt. Everest in May 1953, Everest Base Camp has been the most popular trekking destination in Nepal. Widely known as "The Steps to Heaven" , the trail of Everest Base Camp  got the global recognition for the marvelous and enticing Himalayan insights and the Sherpa valleys through which the trek goes.

The trek to Everest Base Camp embarks with a breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to the tiny airstrip of Lukla. Heading above the Dudh Koshi River crossing two suspension bridges, you reach to Sagarmatha National Park, the UNESCO listed natural heritage site. Various rare floras and faunas such as blue pines, firs, rhododendron, Himalayan monal, blood pheasant and musk deer can be seen in the national park. Sherpa cultural attraction is one of the finest attractions linked with the breathtaking Everest region. Namche Bazaar, Khumjung and Tengboche are some of the culturally significant Sherpa villages, including Buddhist Monastery, Chhortens, Mani Walls and bustling settlements.

Through the trail with glacial moraine, your journey reaches to the Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar that offer the sublime experience in the Everest region of Nepal. The stunning sunrise view of Mt. Everest from Kalapatthar is one thing in particular that you will remain in your memory for the rest of your life. Furthermore, the sensational views of the snow-capped mountains all around makes the trek immensely gratifying. Although trekking can be possible all year round, March to May and September to December are the best times to visit Everest Base Camp.

Everest is not just a mountain and the journey to its base camp is more than just a trek. So, come and explore it with Marvel Adventure. We organise this trek with a very well-designed itinerary, professional guides and all other essential arrangements. Excellent Trip

Excellent Trip

This company and trek was recommended to me by a friend, and I was not disappointed. The EBC trek was guided by locals that had extensive knowledge about the region. The trip was well organized and the guides went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our time. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Marvelous Trek to EBC with Nir and team.

The EBC trek is simply amazing and a must do if you are anywhere near Nepal. It has everything you want. Lush green valley's around Lukla, Monjo and Phakding. Epic hikes up endless steep trails to Namche, Tengboche and Tukla Pass. Beautiful alpine desolation and moonscape vistas with jaw dropping views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and more. History bursting out of every stop, twist and turn along the way. A standout of many standouts is Ama Dablam which follows you like a sentinel overlooking your progress in the middle portion of the trek. It's a special mountain in a special part of the world and Nir and his team are the people to see it with. We had Nir and Ram on our trek and they were perfect. Friendly, happy, helpful, knowledgeable people to spend 2 weeks with in the mountains. They took care of everything we needed but gave us the freedom to do things at our own pace as well.
Even if you're not super fit, you can do this trek. We saw people from 7 to 87 doing this trek. The tea house accommodation and guides make it easy enough so that all you really need is the determination to get there. One step at a time.

1. Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for all clients undertaking any trip. It should provide adequate security for the full duration of the tour to cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, helicopter rescue and loss of luggage. Make sure that your insurance policy covers up to 2500-5000 meters of altitude.

2. Packing List

  • Sunglasses
  • Sun-Cream and Lip Balm with high SPF
  • Hat/Cap
  • T-shirt, Vests and Shirt
  • Fleece/Sweater
  • Fleece Jacket
  • Down Jacket
  • Waterproof Jacket and Trousers
  • Warm Gloves
  • Hiking Boots
  • 3-4 pairs of socks
  • Day pack (30-40 liters)
  • Torch light
  • Water bottle (Minimum 2 liters)
  • Small Hand Towel
  • Sleeping Bag for up to -15 Degree Celsius

3. Guide and Porter

We provide experienced, knowledgeable and honest guide with good communication skills in English language to make your trip wonderful. The guide will provide all the information about the mountains, different histories, cultures, traditions and many more. We will provide 1 porter for 2 people. The porters are helpful as well as strong and will carry a maximum of 25 kgs combined. After giving the best services along with the hard works up in the mountains, guides and porters expect some tips from your side. Tipping culture is very common in tourism sector.

4. Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness, also known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), is a pathological effect of high altitude on humans, caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. It commonly occurs above 3000 meters. It presents as a collection of nonspecific symptoms, acquired at high altitude or in low air pressure, resembling a case of "flu, carbon monoxide poisoning, or a hangover". However, most people can ascend to 3000 meters without difficulty.

Primary Symptoms of Altitude Sickness:

  • Lack of appetite, nausea, or vomiting
  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Swelling of hands, feet, and face
  • Insomnia
  • Shortness of breath upon exertion
  • Nosebleed
  • Persistent rapid pulse
  • Drowsiness
  • General malaise

Ascending slowly is the best way to avoid altitude sickness. Avoiding strenuous activity such as skiing, hiking, etc. in the first 24 hours at high altitude reduces the symptoms of AMS. Alcohol and sleeping pills are respiratory depressants, and thus slow down the acclimatization process and should be avoided. Alcohol also tends to cause dehydration and exacerbates AMS. Thus, Marvel Adventure strictly suggests avoiding alcohol consumption in the first 24–48 hours at a higher altitude.

Guides and porters from Marvel Adventure are very much familiar with this problem due to their experience. All of them are trained with basic medical trainings and hence they definitely can help you.
