      Flight Duration: 30-35 min

      Trek Duration: 3-4 hours

      Overnight stop: Phakding

Let’s pack our backpacks. It is time to leave Kathmandu and get the Everest Base Camp Trek 5 Days started. We will begin with a morning flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. It will be an astonishing flight full of breathtaking mountain panoramas.

Within 30-35 minutes of aviation, we will see Lukla, the gateway to the region, arriving. We will land safely and start experiencing the beauty of the area already.

Without wasting too much time in Lukla, we will begin our day’s trek, which takes us to Phakding. The walk is short today. We will head down from Lukla and join a trail along the Dudh Koshi River. After several hours of walking via greenery and nature, we will reach Phakding.

      • Day 2 Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3,400m)

        Trek Duration: 6 hours

        Overnight stop: Namche Bazaar

Waking up to a lovely morning, we will have breakfast and leave Phakding. Our walk will happen by following the banks of the Dudh Koshi River on the north. We will use suspension bridges dotted with prayer flags several times today. With them, we will cross the sounding Dudh Koshi River easily.

Our walk will continue. We will cross several tiny villages like Benkar and Zamphuti. From Benkar, we will see glimpses of peaks for the first time on the trail. Likewise, Dudh Koshi River will be around for a while. At Monjo, crossing the river, we will pass Sagarmatha National Park’s gate. We will show our permits at the entrance and enter the protected area.

Following that, we will walk through a steep trail of Jorsale. It will be a walk through the woods. We will trek gradually in the shade of the trees and reach the Tenzing Hillary Suspension bridge. We will take one long uphill walk from there, which ends in Namche Bazaar. Ultimately, our evening will end well in the most happening town in the region.

        • Day 3 Acclimatization and Free Day in Namche Bazaar

We will wake up in Namche Bazaar to spend a free day. The upcoming day will be in the mountains. Hence, we need to habituate well before we go higher. For that, Namche Bazaar is an ideal place. We can get used to the elevations while exploring.

We will have some alternatives in Namche during the day, like a visit to Syangboche Airport, Everest View Hotel, Khumjung & Khunde Village. Syanboche Airport is one of the highest airports in the world.

Likewise, Everest View Hotel is one of the high elevation hotels on Earth. Similarly, Khumjung & Khunde are two of the largest Sherpa villages in the region. We will tick one or two of these before returning to Namche Bazaar in the evening.

          • Day 4 Helicopter Flight to Kala Patthar(5,555m)/ Everest Base Camp(5,364m) and Fly back to Lukla(2,850m)

            Overnight stop: Lukla

This morning in Namche Bazaar will be memorable. We will wake up and prepare for the Everest Base Camp visit. It will happen early in the morning after breakfast.

As we sit on our helicopter seats, the helicopter will take us to the skies. Gradually, it will fly where Mt Everest is. Through the glasses of the craft, we will catch amazing pictures of the Everest Region. We will have a bird’s eye view of the place, watching all the terrains, hamlets, and landscapes.

In a quick interval, we will fly across the region and Everest Base Camp and land in Kala Patthar. We will land in Kala Patthar in place of Everest Base Camp for a smooth and safe landing ground. Everest Base Camp landing is quite tricky and risky. Thus, we will see the base camp from the air only.

However, we will experience Mt Everest from Kala Patthar(5,555m). The landmark offers an incredible view of Mt Everest and surrounding peaks like Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Pumori, and Nuptse. We will take a moment to capture all these good images and experience the feeling of being at Everest Base Camp.

Following this memorable sightseeing, we will return to our helicopter, which will take us to Lukla. We will get another chance to see the home of Mt Everest from above. By flying above Gorakshep, Dingboche, Tengboche, Namche, and Phakding, we will perch in Lukla for the night. We will celebrate our Everest Base Camp Trek 5 Days accomplishments before bed.

            • Day 5 Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla

              Flight Duration: 35 minutes

You will complete the Everest Base Camp visit in just five not so much trekking, sweating, and breathing days. That is why this plan is so easy to do.

A person with no prior trekking experience can do it. You do not have to prepare hard for the walk either.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek 5 Days really for you?

Everest Base Camp Trek in 5 Days is a super package to EBC. It is short, easy, and hence for all trekkers. Like said above, you do not require any prior trekking experience or hard training for this trek. You are eligible for this plan if you can trek for three days.

This short EBC Trek is made mainly for someone who wants to experience everything about the trek. You will experience the joy of trekking and flight in a heavenly region. If you want to collect these experiences, this is for you.

Likewise, this trek is suitable if you need more time for the standard Everest Base Camp Trek. Instead of 12 to 14 days, you will complete the visit to Everest Base Camp in 5 days.

Or, if you cannot trek all the distance, i.e., 130km, of the standard Everest Base Camp Trek, this is for you. While others travel for 10-12 days, you will trek for only three days. What is the right time for the Everest base camp trek 5 days?

Autumn and Spring are the right time for 5 Days Everest Base Camp Trek. Most travelers pick these two seasons; we hope you do too.

Autumn(September-November) and Spring(March-May) are the two most suitable times condition-wise. You get stable weather, sunny days, pleasant temperatures, and low precipitation. If you expect a trek in sweet conditions, look no further than these two seasons. You will have real chances to witness the clear mountains in both seasons.

Besides, Spring is the flowering time of Rhododendrons around the Himalayas. The jungle gets red blanketed. You can experience this extra thing if you pick Spring. Likewise, Autumn hosts two of the huge festivals in Nepal: Dashain and Tihar. You can be part of the celebrations if you select Autumn.

However, the remaining two, i.e., Winter and Monsoon, do not offer any of the conditions mentioned above. At times, the weather in Winter and Monsoons gets appropriate, but only briefly. The weather keeps on changing.

In Winter(December-February), it is too cold and snowy in the mountains. Likewise, the Monsoon(June-August) brings fickle weather and regular rainfall. These things can disappoint you and ruin your trip. Therefore, we strongly recommend the former seasons over these latter seasons for the journey. Although, we can do this trek all year around.
